The repair sleeve fits loosel into the mast base as the sleeve has the same OD as the OD of the mast mounting aluminum tube slider and is slightly smaller than the ID of the larger aluminum mast base. The glass spar is bonded to the OD of the larger base leaving about a 3/8" void to fill.
